August 17, 2007 - Making the surgical cuts was achieved by using a Skil saw, which I am holding. There is a light on in the room but it is nearly dark in there due to all the dust I kicked up with the cutting. The A/C in the house has been turned off and a fan is set up at the back door, ventilating most of the dust outside. The exhaust is so thick it makes the house look like it is smoking!

August 17, 2007 - Here is another view of the dust cloud immediately following one of the surgical cutting sessions. Visibility is near zero, but because we turned off the A/C and vented the dust, very little spread from this room to other parts of the house.

August 17, 2007 - I may look like a space alien in this outfit, but at least I kept most of the dust from getting into my eyes and respiratory system. The goggles make it even harder to see in the dense dust.

August 24, 2007 - The Petal poses in front of the french doors on the living room side. This was before we thought about masking them so they are covered with dust.

August 24, 2007 - A look at some of the progress on the outside facing wall. Some touch up work is still needed, but mud work on this wall is almost completed.

August 24, 2007 - The Petal sands the joint between new and old wallboard on the outside facing wall.

August 24, 2007 - The Petal poses once again in front of the french doors. Do I detect a look of triumph?

August 24, 2007 - The wall surrounding the windows is closed and partially floated.

August 24, 2007 - This is the wall where the paneling used to be. The small "Troll Door" in the center of the image is where the old wall heater was. I cut the hole wider for access to install electric in the storage room, which is why the patch is bigger than the hole in the previous photos. The hole in the kitchen facing wall has been likewise widened to facilitate access to the kitchen electric.
